We’ve compiled a list of some our favourite Christmas party locations with a view of Darling Harbour – snap one up before all those good Fridays are booked!
There’s no better vantage point than from a roof. 55 George, on top of the Holiday Inn Old Sydney, is a revamped and beautifully renovated space. It’s less air conditioning vents, and more Miami events. There’s a marquee, festoon lighting and uninterrupted views of the Harbour and all its icons.
The Sydney Opera House is arguably one of the sparkling jewels of Sydney Harbour. Harbour 220 has one superb view of the white sails. Situated 15 floors above Macquarie Street, they can host up to 220 people. Stare across the Harbour at night, or marvel at the Royal Botanic Gardens and Opera House in the daylight.
If you’re trying to find a venue that’s close to the city, has a stunning view of the Harbour Bridge and can fit more than 500 people, Doltone House Darling Island Wharf is your best bet. They’re absolute pros at staging grand receptions, and their spaces flow easily between indoors and outdoors, to really capitalise on its location.
From the plate in front of you, to the view out the window, it’s impossible to not see something beautiful when seated in this award-winning restaurant. With its enviable position, Quay offers diners and party guests uninterrupted views of the Harbour Bridge, Darling Harbour and Sydney Opera House, all from the one spot. Bliss.
This venue offers picturesque views of Cockle Bay and Darling Harbour during the day, and soothing, glittering views of the water at night. Start with a glass of sparkling on arrival on a private balcony to watch the sunset, and then move into the Terrace Room to make the most of the December evening sun.
Watch the ferries come in and out of Circular Quay, while sipping on Cruise Bar’s take on the piña colada. This stylish venue is located in that enviable pocket between the Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. No matter where you’re situated, you’ll have an unbridled view of some of Australia’s most iconic landmarks and stunning scenery.
Experiencing the full majesty of Darling Harbour from one spot is a bit tricky. After all, it has approximately 322km of shoreline. By hiring one of Vagabond Cruises’ vessels, you can at least begin to scratch the surface. Party into the night while being chartered around the Harbour.
