Imagine leading your guests through an unassuming corridor, past a swept aside curtain and onto one of Melbourne’s most iconic and beloved stages. A sea of cascading red as a backdrop, the lights softly but directly focussed on your event, a space that is exceptional.
When it comes to finding a unique space for a lavish event, The State Theatre stage at Arts Centre Melbourne is one of a kind. Modelled on the grand opera houses of Europe, the theatre is full of bold and lavish reds, golds and brass finishes. Event planners can create an absolute spectacle of an event, one that will stick in the minds of guests for a long time.
The sheer thrill of holding an event on stage where The Australian Ballet performs, and where Opera Australia regularly treads the boards is guaranteed to spark excitement in guests. Given the State Theatre’s busy schedule of performances, this is why 18 July – 23 July 2019 is such an exciting opportunity for event planners looking to blow all other events out of the water.
The State Theatre stage is available for these dates in July, just in time for End of Financial Year cocktail extravaganzas, glittering gala dinners, or a myriad of events to wow guests who may be burdened with corporate event fatigue.
Coordinating with the industry-leading in-house teams, event planners can create a unique setting for their event. From diverse and delicious catering and beverage packages, to customised lighting designs, AV and theming, you can create an experience that is both unique, meticulously detailed and stunning from start to finish.
Last year, the Consular Corps Black Tie Dinner was held on this stage. The reveal was nothing short of breathtaking, as Steve Bayliss, head of sales and events at Arts Centre Melbourne explained. “The idea is completely unassuming. The curtain at the front of the stage goes up and the guests realise they’re on the stage of the State Theatre and it’s just amazing.”
Tables set for fine dining, floral centrepieces adding a pop of colour across the black stage, and the pièce de résistance – a selection of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra performing privately just for the event.
This particular event, held on the State Theatre stage, with a private performance from the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and bespoke menu for 200 guests, was created with only 6 weeks’ notice.
Imagine what you could create in five months.
