Mob Values – what are they, and why do we have them?

Every company has a mantra, a collective goal which guides and navigates every decision, every order, every process. At Venuemob, we of course have goals. But we go beyond that – creating a set of values that each Venuemob mobster should adhere to. Our mob values ensures that each team member, while working towards our weekly, quarterly, or yearly goal, doesn’t lose focus on why we’re here, and what’s really important.

Work hard, be happy

‘Find a job that you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life’. It’s almost clichéd, but it still rings true. Here at Venuemob, we employ passionate, dedicated and interested people. People who love what they do. And that reflects across the entire business; from how we help clients and venue partners, to the product and content we put out, to even our office environment. You spend more time at work than you do at home, so it’s so important to enjoy what you do.

Mindset to improve

We’ve said it once, we’ll say it a thousand times: Venuemob isn’t one to rest on its laurels. “We just released a new product feature! Yay! What’s next?” The events industry is forever shifting and evolving. And that means new challenges, new tools that need building, new features that customers want. At Venuemob, we pride ourselves on thinking critically, listening intently to our customers, and creating solutions. Always.

Wow our customers

A business is nothing without its customers. That’s a no-brainer. But we want to go beyond exemplary service : we want to wow our customers. Genuinely. Whether it be via our product, our service, or our knowledge, we want our customers to have at least one “wow” moment. After all, we didn’t build this product for us, we built it for the millions of people trying to plan their company’s Christmas party or conference, their birthday party, their best friend’s hens party, and for the thousands of venues across Australia trying to help their business grow.

Recognise our team

Building a company and a product from scratch is hard work. Venuemob has come a long way since its inception in a Melbourne University anteroom above the library. And to get to this stage requires hard work from every single member of the team. Spend a day in our office and you’ll hear at least one whoop, one round of applause, and many shared giphys on Slack of people dancing, party parrot partying and fist pumping. And that’s because we celebrate our team. It’s important to recognise each member and the value they bring to create a team that feels valued and empowered.

Be the best at what we do

Tying heavily into our ‘mindset to improve’ mob value, ‘be the best at what we do’ is almost a given. ‘Good enough’ isn’t good enough. No one wants to use a second-rate service. By being the best at what we do, we can feel confident in knowing we’re helping to simplify the booking process, creating an events marketplace that helps venues, customers and suppliers.

Be open

How many offices have you worked in, where things go left unsaid, and something breaks, or something looks bad, or even resentment builds? We’ve created a safe environment at Venuemob, where if you don’t think something works or should be changed, you speak up. Being open not only allows for respectful, productive discourse, but our product and our company benefits too. Sensing a theme yet?
